Rain in Dubai; 75 year record broken: Helpline number of Indian Embassy released; 135 people died in Pakistan and Afghanistan




The situation has worsened due to rain in Pakistan, Afghanistan and many Gulf countries for the last 4 days. Rain in UAE has broken the record of 75 years. ​​In view of the flood-like situation in Dubai, the Indian Consulate present there has issued a helpline number.

At the same time, 135 people have died so far in the floods caused by rain in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Of these, 70 people died in Afghanistan and 65 in Pakistan. In Oman also, 20 people have died due to floods.

Earlier on Wednesday, 28 flights coming to India were canceled due to bad weather in Dubai. Emergency had to be imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces of Pakistan.


300 flights to and from Dubai airport canceled

According to media reports, Dubai has received about 15.2 cm of rain in the last 24 hours. There was more than 10 inches of rain here on Tuesday. According to BBC News, 300 flights to and from Dubai International Airport were canceled on Wednesday.

The airport authority has advised people not to come there. On the other hand, due to rain in Oman, 1400 people have been sent to shelter. Schools and government offices have been closed.

Alert of heavy rain till 22 April

Pakistan Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued advisory to the people of Chitral, Dar, Swat, Abbottabad of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not to leave their homes. Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain and hailstorm in the entire country till April 22.

The Meteorological Department has attributed the heavy rains to climate change. Relief materials are being delivered to people in flood affected areas. Roads are being improved for transportation. Apart from this, flood warning has also been issued for many other provinces of Pakistan.



It rained a year in Dubai in 2 days

Cities like Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain of United Arab Emirates (UAE) are also facing flood like conditions due to heavy rains. So far 1 person has died due to this. There the whole year's rain fell within 2 days. Roads, railways and flights were affected on Tuesday. Offices and schools have been closed in these cities. People have been asked to work from home.

Khaleej Times, quoting Dubai International Airport, has asked people not to come to the airport unless absolutely necessary. Many flights have been cancelled, many have been diverted. The check-in process has been suspended for those traveling through Dubai Airport.

It started raining in UAE from the night of Monday 15 April. Rain continued in many places of UAE on Wednesday also. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain on Wednesday i.e. today also. People have been advised to stay at home. The situation is also bad due to heavy rains in Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
